I have been going up for 20 plus years. Great accomodations, food is excellent, the beach is wonderful, and they have a beautiful property. Dogs are allowed, and that is a plus for us. Our daughter loves to go up with us, if it's raining, you can play pingpong in the lodge, or just play games in your own cabin. you can have bon fires on the beach with friends or by yourself (your choice) but its hard not to meet new people while you are there. you can take long walks along the road and enjoy the the peacefullness of cottage life. The best place we have ever stayed, and we contnue to go up each and every year! family owned and the best place to stay!
Private 1 or 2 bedroom cabins on the beach with 3 home cooked meals day. Our family has been going for a week every summer for over 60 years. A little piece of paradise a short drive from Ottawa.
Rustic spot for family vacation perfect for lake activities and community. My family has been coming to Golden Lake since around the 1970s. If you want to start a family tradition, come to the McMillan’s. They’re the most hospital people I know. Great for fishing, boating, paddle boarding, hiking, and family time.
My family came to McMillan’s 55 years ago. My brother and I have been coming here almost every year since then. You don’t come back that often if it’s an okay trip. You come here that often because it’s a Great Trip !!! The food is great, the people are great and the view is breathtaking. This is a great place for a family, a couple or some fishing buddies. The sunsets across from the cabins and they are amazing. No phones, no tv’s, no noise, just peace and quiet. I wish I could be here everyday. Darrell Kennedy
It's been about 14 years since I've been there, but this was such a relaxing place that I still haven't forgotten the sound of the waves on shore. Amazing family and food served was delicious! My grandfather LOVED their grits! He would go on and on about them!
The entire staff are wonderful! Treating you like family and so accommodating. The water was amazing and clear, the food…out of this world. We can not wait to return.
Been driving the 12 hours here from the Washington, D.C. area since 2008, I believe. Why? The cost is more than reasonable; the view is amazing; there is plenty to do; and the accommodations are spectacular! If you're planning a trip to the area, I highly recommend staying here. It's like visiting family (the ones you actually like)!
I have been here many times with my husband Larry. Unfortunately Larry passed away unexpectedly recently. I would love to return but don’t know if I could handle being there without him. But I do miss this place so much along with Gordie and the family. We always came around the 4th of July and made a lot of friends with those who also came that week over the years. This is a special place!
